Wahneta Mae Rutherford, 92, formerly of Bremen, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Carriage Court, Lancaster. She was born January 8, 1923 in Morgan County, Ohio the daughter of the late Dean Love and Mary Edith (Phillips) Pedicord. She was a graduate of Amesville High School and was retired from Fairfield Union Local Schools working as a cook at Bremen Elementary. She was a member of Avlon United Brethren in Christ Church where she served for a number of years as treasurer. She was a 4-H leader and enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (James) Coleman of Lancaster and Dena (John) Dickson of Amissville, Virginia; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 5 nieces; and brother-in-law, Russell “Woody” Woodard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell L. Rutherford on September 29, 1975; and twin brothers, Gerald and Harold Pedicord. Funeral services will take place Monday, April 27, 2015 at 10 AM in the Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort Street, Bremen with Rev. Chuck Wheatley officiating. A time to visit with Wahneta’s family will be held one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
