Victoria May McGee, 78, formerly of Mt. Perry, Ohio died Thursday, April 4, 2024 in Trenton, Michigan. She was born May 8, 1945 in Lancaster, Ohio the daughter of Henry William and Irene (Wolford) McCandlish. Vicky attended Rushcreek Memorial High School. After high school she worked at Goodyear for 5 years then earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She began working at Heartland Fairfield Care Center and was very proud of her 30 years of service as a LPN and Nursing Supervisor. She had attended St. John’s Church of Christ, Newark and in the past few years attended First Presbyterian Church, Trenton, MI.
Vicky is survived by her children, Sherry Morgan, Mary (Bill) Carr, Kendra (Bill) Berk, David (Jill) McGee; grandchildren, Chris (Sienna) and Tori Morgan, Ryan (Alyssa) and Derek (Brittni) Amspaugh, Melodie (Robert) Sword, Joshua, Matthew (Leeah) and Luke Berk, Marshall and Anna McGee; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Annie, Julia, Maverick and Malcom; brother, Thomas McCandlish; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Eugene Hoplite in 1973; son-in-law, Tony Morgan; and siblings, Rosemary, Lloyd, Ann, Dick, Bill, Patty, John, Peg, and Ronald “Boone”.
A time to visit with Vicky’s family will be Friday, April 12th from 5 – 7 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 7 PM in the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, Ohio. Contributions may be made in Vicky’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
