Theodore Scott “Ted” Courtright, 86, passed on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Fairfield Medical Center. Ted was born on November 9, 1928 in Lancaster, the son of the late Winfield Scott and Esther Margaret (Winter) Courtright. He graduated from Rushville High School and was a loyal fan, supporter of all Fairfield Union sporting events. He was an active Atheltic Booster member. He gave of his time and talents as a welder to instruct students in the Ag Department and to build a set of bleachers at Fairfield Unions first baseball field. Ted was a member and past president of the Rushville Union Lions Club, a courier for the Bremen Bank and was a Rushcreek Township Trustee. He had worked for Ericksons, Westermans, Bremco and was a dairy and hog farmer. He loved parades, telling and playing practical jokes,playing cards and most of all his family and friends. Ted is survived by his children, Susie (Rodney) Hambel, Teresa (Jim) Henry, Chris (Bev) Courtright, Mike (Doris) Courtright, Tracey (Dean) Walker, and Stacey (Jay) Buckalew; grandchildren, Andy and Rodney Alan Hambel, Nicole Spires, Jennifer Bryant, Jesse Courtright, Nick and Amber Grandominico, Ashley and Derek Buckalew; great-grandchildren, Hope Gayheart, Luke Wood, Megan Bryant, Peyton Courtright, Beau Courtright, Ryne Payne, Onna Saunders, Connor, Bailee and Marcus Smith, Ava and Andrew Hambel; sisters, Ann Barnes, Alice Raab and Jeanette Dungan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his bride, Rita Marie Courtright; and grandson, Robbie Henry. Ted enjoyed time spent with he and Rita’s gang of friends, Junior and Donna Burnworth, Fred and Betty Love, Marvin and Louise Eyman, Francis and Juanita Bope and Dale and Mabel Gary. A visitation will be held Sunday from 2-5 PM at Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort Street, Bremen. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home with his friend, Tom Tiller officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
