Sally McCray, 84, prayer warrior and devout Christian, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2022. She was born June 6, 1938 in Sugar Grove, Ohio to Howard Thomas and Edna Marie (Smith) Crozier.
She was a member of Victory Hill Church and worked tirelessly on their behalf when she was able. When living in Bremen, Sally was known to the neighborhood kids as the cookie lady. Once she and her husband Bob moved to Stone Glen Court in Lancaster she was the person who cooked, baked and delivered the best food you’ll ever taste to all her neighbors in need. She worked as an executive assistant for Superior Fibers for many years, but she always made time to be there for her son Jim and his many school activities. She also showered her work friends with delicious goodies for every occasion. Her infamous wit and humor were evident till the very end.
Sally is survived by her son, Dr. James McCray; brother, Tom (Mary Jane) Crozier; sister, Judy (Steve) Weaver; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert McCray; brother, Teddy (Patty) Crozier; and nephew, Grant Crozier.
A special thanks to the staff of Lanfair and Fairhope Hospice for the comfort care they provided to Sally.
A visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 22nd from 10 am – 2 PM at Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Aaron Begley officiating.
