Ruth Johnson

Ruth Johnson, 57, of Bremen, passed away unexpectedly on January 9th, 2024. Ruth was born on January 14, 1966. She was the daughter of Mary and Glenn Carson. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Ruth loved to laugh, and was known for her many pranks she played on others. She lived every moment of her life to its fullest – embracing spontaneity any chance she could. She worked tirelessly as a nurse, caring for numerous patients at Buckeye Care and Rehab. She loved to spend time with her husband, kids, grandkids, and siblings. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Gary Johnson; children, Katie (Kyle) VanAtta, Drew Johnson (Grace); siblings, Shawn, Mare, John and Jason; father, Glenn Carson; grandchildren, Levi and Landon VanAtta. Many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Carson; grandparents, Frances Pearl Watters and Oliver Benton Watters; and daughter, Elizabeth Johnson.
A time to visit with Ruth’s family will be Sunday, January 14th from 2 – 5 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will take place Monday at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Chrissy Kidd officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fairhope Hospice.
