In loving memory of Roger R. Snider, a beloved member of the Bremen community, we regret to announce his unexpected passing at the age of 81. Roger was born on July 31, 1942, in Logan, Ohio, to the late Charles Raymond and Betty Jane (Patterson) Snider. He peacefully departed from this world on January 21, 2024, at his residence in Somerset. Roger attended Logan High School and left school early to join the Navy, where he proudly served his country in Vietnam. Following his military service, Roger embarked on a fulfilling career as a vault tech for Stuart Burial Vault Company, an industry he dedicated 30 years of his life to. Additionally, he served his community as a respected volunteer firefighter and police officer in his cherished town of Bremen. In 2006, Roger proudly completed his high school studies and received his diploma from Fairfield Union High School. Retiring to enjoy the fruits of his labor, Roger took on a part-time job at One Stop Crossing in Bremen, where he was able to engage with his community, sharing stories and putting a smile on many faces. Throughout his life, Roger actively participated in his local community, as a member of Living Word Ministries, Junction City and the Rushville Union Lions Club, Rushville. Roger is survived by his daughter, Sarah Jane Snider; and step-sons, Tim (Stacia) Plantz, Todd (Patty) Plantz and Ryan Francis; grandchildren, Parker and Amber Stevens; step-grandchildren, Dakota and Dillon Plantz, August Leffel, Chase Plantz, Nicholas Reynolds, Jeremy Norris and Karlee Francis. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janeann Snider; wife, Cheri Jean Francis-Snider; dear son, Daniel Snider; and his beloved brother, Steve Snider of Logan. A visitation to honor Roger's life will be held on Thursday, January 25th from 6 - 8 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home in Bremen. As a celebration of his life, funeral services will take place on Friday at 10 AM in the funeral home, where his cherished pastor, Marsha Ashbaugh, will officiate the ceremony. Following the service, there will be a final tribute to Roger's military service with graveside honors at Grandview Cemetery in Bremen. In honor of Roger's memory, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to one's favorite charity in lieu of flowers. This gesture would reflect Roger's generosity and commitment to helping others. Roger R. Snider will forever be remembered for his dedication to his community, his selfless service to his country, and his loving presence in the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
