Robert (Bob) C Reedy, 78, was reunited with the love of his life, Ruthie, at 6:13pm on Sunday, January 4, 2026 after a short battle with Acute Myloid Leukemia.

He was the youngest of five born to Donald and Florence (McCandlish) Reedy on June 27, 1947. He was a 1966 graduate of Fairfield Union.

Bob worked at Anchor Hocking, McDonnell Douglas, and Hollophane as a mold maker. He was in the Army as Military Police in Vietnam. He always downplayed his role because he didn’t see combat. He was humble like that. Bob was never one to ask for help, but the first to help others.

Bob was an amazing and fun father to his daughters, Jennifer and Kristi, but also to Ruthie’s boys, Jimmy and Shane.

Bob had a love of water and the outdoors. He lived his life to the fullest at his beloved Hide-Away-Hills. Bob was an active member of the Bremen American Legion Post 20. For many years he did his part for gun raffles, Wild Game Supper, Veteran’s Day Dinner, military funerals, and the Memorial Day ceremony at Grandview Cemetery. He was an avid hunter.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Dale) Wellman and Kristi Kenyon; his bonus sons, James (Elaine) Swartz and Shane (Michelle) Ellis; his grandchildren, Nikki, Natalie (Jesus), Keri, Allie (Travis), Shaina (Nathan), Chase (Robyn), Westin (Grace), Morgan (Evan), Connor, and Charlotte; his great grandchildren, Greyson, Vera, Joel, Destin, Damon, Myles, Kahlani, Charlotte, Mateo, Gabriel, Liam, and Harrison. In addition, several nieces, nephews, and special bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Ruthie; his mother and father; and his four siblings, Jack, Jim, Dave, and RoseAnn.

Through it all, he maintained his sense of humor. Asked by the nurse on New Year’s Day if he wanted some pie…he said “can I get it to go?”

Special thanks to Dr Saha and her team, his doctors and nurses at the James Cancer Center, and the staff at Fairhope Pickering House.
