Richard Lee “Dick” Armstrong, 88, of Lancaster, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the Pickering House. He was born July 5, 1934 in Bremen, Ohio to the late Percy Samuel and Marie L. (Bay) Armstrong. Dick was a 1952 graduate of Junction City High School and served in the US Marine Corp from 1956 – 1958. He was retired from Harvest Insurance Agency where he had worked for 26 years. Dick and his family attended Mt. Zion United Brethren, Junction City for many years and later became a member of the Lancaster United Brethren In Christ Church. Richard is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Ruth E. (Carpenter) Armstrong, whom he married May 29, 1959; children, Cathy Armstrong, Connie (Bruce) Dickey, Cristy (Mike) Wood and Chad (Misty) Armstrong; grandchildren, Emily (John), Dayna (Brandon), Bryan (Ali), Amanda (Brandon), Kobie (Annaleece), Kayden, Kameron and Keyton; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Elijah, Oliver and Levi; sister, Linda “Sue” (Larry) Brown; sister-in-law, Betty Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cindy Anders Armstrong; siblings, Bob, Marylou, Dale, Larry and Louise. A time to visit with Richard’s family will be Sunday, April 16th from 2 – 5 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will take place Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Steve Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Bremen.
