Richard E. “Rich” Boyer, 60, of Rushville, died Friday, May 29, 2015. He was born October 1, 1954 in Lancaster, Ohio the son of Richard L. and Bertha (Hardwick) Boyer. He lived in Bremen through his school years and was a 1973 graduate of Fairfield Union High School. He married his wife, Connie M. (Lambert) Boyer in 1975, whom he met at a church rollerskating party. They lived in St. Louisville, Ohio for one year then moved to the Bremen area.
Rich worked at King’s Furniture Store in the 1970’s, Bremco, Shooks Bicycle Shop, Techneglass in Columbus and lastly at Caurastar/Ohio Paper Board in Baltimore, Ohio. He was a member of the Licking Masonic Lodge #291. He loved pulling pranks on his co-workers, camping, spending time with his kids and grandkids, helping people he knew were going through hard times, hanging out with his beloved wife of 39 years listening to 70’s music and supporting her in her volunteer work. He loved woodworking – making canes and walking sticks, DEER HUNTING, gardening and cooking.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; sons, Scott (Tracy) Boyer of Groveport and James (Michelle) Boyer of Lancaster; daughter, Audra (Jay Roberts) Boyer of Lancaster; his parents, Richard and Bertha Boyer; brother, Harry (Mary) Boyer; 2 sisters, Kathleen Williams of Lancaster and Deanna (Joe) Grobaskas of Virginia; 8 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by many. Rich would say thank you to his father-in-law, Carl Lambert for always being there for him - especially over the past 6 years. He was always like a Dad to Rich.
A time to visit with his family will be Tuesday from 11 – 1 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort St., Bremen. Funeral services will take place at 1 PM with Chaplain Kermit Welty officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
