Raymond Dwight Heyd, 86, of Bremen, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at LanFair Center in Lancaster. He was born March 5, 1925 in Bremen, Ohio the son of the late George Raymond and Meda Blosser Heyd. He was a veteran of the United States Navy in World War II and was retired from Diamond Power with 37 years of service. He was a member of the Bremen American Legion, Post 20 and the Bremen Jerusalem Church. Raymond is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Douglas) Miller, Sharon (Charles) Moellendick, Carolyn (Kim) Kadesch and Linda (Mark) Albright; six grandchildren, Leah (Brock) Amstutz, Sarah (Grant) Martin, Ryan (Natalie) Smith, Jason (Amanda) Smith, Alicia (Andrew) Kadesch-Benedict and Alison Kadesch; three great-granddaughters, Bailee Amstutz, Jordyn Smith and Lydia Smith; three sisters, Lucille Derflinger, Marjorie McCandlish and Marcella Hanson; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Mae (Wolfe) Heyd on December 9, 1998. A visitation will take place on Friday, January 6 from 4 till 8 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort Street, Bremen. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Roger Hale officiating. Interment and military honors will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
