Paul D. Chancey, 75, of Rushville, died peacefully Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Pickering House. He was born May 17, 1940 in Reedy, West Virginia to the late Herman and Mildred (Fluharty) Chancey.
Paul is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jessie E. (Wolfe) Chancey; brothers, Carroll Allen, William Burl (Betty), Mark Gregory (Jill) and Brian Darrell (Lena Beth) Chancey; sister, Elizabeth Ellen (Don) Love; sister-in-law, Mary (Marion) Arledge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dale Brent and Geary Lee Chancey; sister, Marianne Chaffins.
Paul served his country in the US Marines and was a member and past president of the Rushville Union Lions Club. He retired in 2006 from Diamond Power after 38 years of service. He, with his wife Jessie, established and operated the “Someone who Cares” program for 20 years.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will take place Friday at 10 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Terry Borah officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
