Mary A. Householder, 97, of Lancaster, died peacefully September 18, 2025 at the Pickering House surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 2, 1927 in Bremen, Ohio the daughter of the late Lester and Lesta (VanAtta) Stuart.
Mary graduated from Rushcreek Memorial High School and began setting her hands to work at various places over her lifetime- the Lancaster Library, Hickle's Department Store, and the Bremen Cheese Factory. She would proudly tell you she was a farmer more than anything else, working alongside her husband, Lloyd, raising Charolais Cattle. She was very active in farming activities, serving as secretary of the Ohio State Charolais Association and helping out in the bookkeeping functions during Market Days at the Lancaster Producers Livestock sales. Even in her retirement, her hands needed to be busy, so she took on a part-time job at Smith's Flowers, making arrangements and whatever task needed to be done. One of the highlights of her life was traveling the world with Lloyd to Paris, China, Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland and the Netherlands. She thoroughly enjoyed being a snowbird at Bonita Springs, Florida and made many friends during the winters spent there.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Jeanne (Jamka Bayanmunkh) Bartholomew and Marilyn (John) Baldwin; two sons, Larry (Donna) Householder and Ken (Janet) Householder; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd E. Householder on December 12, 2009; infant son, Lon Householder; and brothers, Carl and Roy Stuart.
