Marjory Ann (Hill) Lonberger, 89, born March 19, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio, died Saturday, April 2, 2022 in Canal Winchester, Ohio. Survived by children, Susan (Scott) Douglas, Ashville, OH and Carol (Mark) Burns, Canal Winchester, OH; grandchildren, Kevin (Mackinzie) Douglas, Andrew (Julie) Burns and Alyssa Burns; great-grandchildren, Caroline, Elliot and Serenity; sister, June (Lawrence) Powell; brother, John (Sharon) Hill; sister-in-law, Christine Hill; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Anna (Wesney) Hill; husband, Loren E. Lonberger; brothers, Clyde (MaryAnn) Hill and David Hill.
Marjory was a graduate of Moxahala (Pleasant Local) High School and Ohio University with Bachelor and Master degrees in education.
Marjory served as a department of Army civilian in Frankfurt, Germany, was employed in the Ohio University College of Education Dean’s office, Athens, Ohio, worked for Nationwide Insurance in Columbus and was a part of their training personnel in the Raleigh, NC office. Marjory taught elementary grades in Lancaster City Schools, as well as, Stanberry Middle School. She retired from the Lancaster City Schools.
She enjoyed music and participated in a number of church choirs and the Hide-Away-Hills Choir. Sewing, flowers and gardening, golf, puzzles and computer games were among her many hobbies.
Marjory was a past member of the Lancaster Education Association, the Ohio Education Association, The National Education Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Education Sorority. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of the Bremen United Methodist Church where she was a member of their choir.
Over the past 4 years, Marjory enjoyed her life at The Inn at Winchester Trail. She had many friends that were both staff and residents. She participated in and enjoyed church services, happy hour at the Pub, Bingo, the Poetry and Book Clubs, Chef JP’s special occasion dinners and libations, along with special music groups.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 6th at 2 PM at the Bremen United Methodist Church with Pastor Linda Ward officiating. There will be one hour prior visitation.
