Marcella Heyd Hanson went home to her Lord on January 18, 2018 while surrounded by her family at Junction City. She was born on July 4, 1923 with her twin sister, Marjorie who survives, to the late George and Meda Heyd at Bremen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion, who passed away in March 2011. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dwight and sister-in-law, Clara Heyd, sister, Lucille and brother-in-law, Harry Derflinger and brother-in-law, Clifford McCandlish.
She is survived by her twin sister, Marjorie McCandlish along with six sons, Stephen (Saundra) of Lancaster, David (Rose) of Logan, Paul, Mark and Randall (Michele) of Junction City and Michael (Khristine) of Crooksville; grandchildren, Todd (Leslee) Hanson, Alisha (Jason) Fries, Janelle Hanson (Ben Bennett), Jennifer Hanson, Karrie (Aaron) Martin, Shane (Heather) Dorsey, Josh (Michele) Dorsey, Ed (Ida) Poling, Tracy (Jeff) Carpenter, Charles Sr. (Teri) Poling, Robbyn (Curtis) Truax, Kelly Sr. (Christy) Poling, Tim (Teri) Poling, Alicia Pacino and Chad Poling; 40 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Marcella was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending holidays with family, trips to Amish country and watching cooking shows on TV. She was a retired glass cutter at Anchor Hocking in Bremen and a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Mt. Zion United Brethren Church in Junction City.
A gathering of friends and family will take place Monday, January 22 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort Street, Bremen. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 23 from 10 – 11 AM with funeral services at 11 AM at Mt. Zion Church with Pastors Eric Self and Michele Hanson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
