Kenneth Girard Montag, a beloved son, husband, father, and educator, peacefully passed away on January 19, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on March 17, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ken was the cherished son of Harry and Anna (Wichman) Montag.

Ken's life was dedicated to education and community service. After graduating from Hughes High School in 1966, he continued his academic journey at Wittenberg University, earning his Bachelor's degree in 1970. He later pursued and received his Master's degree at The Ohio State University. Ken's passion for teaching led him to become a business marketing teacher for Lancaster City Schools, where he inspired countless students and served as the DECA coordinator for Fairfield County.

Simultaneously, Ken had a successful career at LanFair Credit Union as a loan officer. His professionalism and dedication earned him the respect and trust of his colleagues and members alike. In addition, Ken eagerly dedicated his time to coaching the "In The Know Team" at Lancaster High School, nurturing young minds and fostering their love for knowledge.

Ken's integrity extended to his involvement in public service. He selflessly served on the Lancaster City Council, advocating for his community and striving to make a positive impact.

Outside of his professional life, Ken ardently cheered for his beloved Cincinnati Reds, and his radio dial rarely left its spot on 700 WLW. His dedication to his favorite team and radio station was a testament to his loyal and passionate nature.

Ken's memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 44 years, Connie (Teeter) Montag, whom he married on January 4, 1980. Their love and partnership were the foundation of his happiness. He is also survived by his son, Christopher (Dawn) Mulliss, his adored grandsons, Kevin and Charlie Mulliss; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Sadly, Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Melissa Montag; his brother, Walter Kunz; and sister, Ann Huhn. Their memories will forever be held close in the hearts of those who loved him.
A gathering of family and friends to honor Ken's life will take place Sunday, February 18th from 2 - 5 PM at Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort St., Bremen, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions in Ken's memory be made to a charity of one's choice.

Ken's legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the knowledge he imparted. His warm heart, dedication, and unwavering support will forever be remembered by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a guiding light for us all.
