Karen Marie Stephenson, 81, of Lancaster, passed Wednesday, January 25, 2023. She was born June 3, 1941 in Stanwood, Washington, the daughter of Emil and Jeanette (Coles) Paulson.
Karen was a longtime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church where she served as church secretary. Because of her deep-rooted faith and love for people, she supported multiple charities. Karen was known for her "Best of Show" cross-stitch, delicious cheesecake and eye-catching bling. She loved sharing her wit with family and friends. She was a proud Navy wife; following her husband from coast to coast. Karen's greatest joy came from spoiling her children and grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her favorite sailor of 62 years, Jerry Lee Stephenson, whom she married February 20, 1961; two children, James (Sherri) Stephenson and Jennifer (Dy’Sheam) West; three grandchildren, Cainan (Kaytlin) Newell, Braydon Caudill, Ethan Stephenson; four great-grandchildren, Reece, Azlynn, Asher, Chael; sister, Judy (Don) Ogren. She was preceded in death by her father, Emil (Bertha) Paulson, mother, Jeanette (Oscar) Iverson; siblings, Doris (Gene) Knollmeyer, Marion (Dan) Daugherty, Leroy Paulson and Dickie Paulson.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 29439 Hide Away Hills Road, Logan, OH with visitation at 10:00am and service at 11:00am.
