Karen Ardrey

Karen Kay Ardrey, age 83 of Rushville joined her heavenly Father on November 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love and laughter to forever live in our hearts.

She was born December 22, 1941 to the late Ernest and Loretta (Saffol) Hanna in Lancaster, Ohio. She was a 1960 graduate of Rushville Union High School. After high school, she did clerical work at the courthouse and then worked as a bank teller. She married her life-long love Carl Ardrey, December 4, 1960 at the Rushcreek Presbyterian Church where they met and have been life-long members.

Karen leaves behind her husband of almost 65 years, Carl; their daughter, Julie and her husband, Scott Bell; her grandsons, Joshua and his wife, Taylor Bell and Joseph Bell and his fiancé, Bailey McMahon, who were her greatest joy and accomplishment. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Leland Lones and sisters-in-law, Carol Ardrey and Nancy Ardrey; many nieces and nephews; as well as "honorary nieces" Lisa Irwin and Angie McCrady.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Hanna Lones; sisters-in-law, Rose Stoner, Patty Ardrey, Marilynn Ardrey, Wilma Hugus; brothers-in-law, Lee Ardrey, Verne Ardrey, Don Ardrey, Phil Ardrey, Walter Stoner and Harold Hugus.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 15th from 10 - 12 PM with service at 12 PM at the Rushcreek Presbyterian Church, 7741 Main Street, Rushville with Pastors Tanner Fixari and Nick England officiating. Burial will follow at West Rushville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rushcreek Presbyterian Church, PO Box 185, Rushville, Ohio 43150.
