James Doyle “Rosco” Ross, The Man, The Myth, The Legend from Kentucky, died unexpectedly at home, Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the incredibly young age of 62 (he thought he was holding up pretty well in the looks department). With the heaviest of hearts we say goodbye to a giant of a man.
He loved his pappy, and his many beagles and his cats and his wife, Jo, who he ran into a burning building to save. Which of course, meant she could never leave him. His quick wit and charm will be sorely missed. He loved rabbit hunting (Etta and he scored 2 last week) and all aspects of hunting. He loved Mother Nature, every nasty bit of her, and homegrown tomatoes, and all food, ice cold Rolling Rocks, Willie, Waylon and the boys, Norah Jones (secret!) and Seymour, Be More the cat.
A great white hunter since knee high to his pappy, the neighborhood wildlife can rest easy now knowing he’s only hunting in his dreams now.
Please remember him by raising an adult beverage in his honor. He would love that.
He left behind to miss him, his wife, Jo Beattie Ross; siblings, Joan (George) Bond, Janet Bibler, Gary (Sherry) Ross, Doris (Mike) Courtright, Elaine (Brian) Householder and Randal Ross; sisters-in-law, Shuri (Michael) Stevens, Karel (Jim) Womack, Donna (Ron) Hanna, Nita (Kelly) Williams, Delayne (Jeremy) Williams, Robin (Scott), Amy (Tony) Yost; and favorite mother-in-law, Nancy Williams; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by brother-in-law, Butch Bibler, Ma and Pa Ross (Norma and Jim), favorite father-in-law, Dave Williams and many fine, fine Beagles.
Please join us for a celebration of the big guys life at the Bremen American Legion from 2 – 6 PM Sunday, February 11th. Refreshments will be served. Online condolences at
