James H. Noll, 74, of Bremen, died in his home with his family by his side on Monday, April 1, 2013 after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born June 17, 1938 in Bremen, Ohio the son of Herbert and Lou Noll. James was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Church in Bremen, an Army veteran serving 18 months in Germany, a member of the American Legion, Post 11, and the Knights of Columbus. He retired from Westerman Company where he was a purchasing agent. He was a sports enthusiast, who enjoyed cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns. He loved to fish with his family and friends, but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends at home. James is survived by his wife of 52 years, Catherine (Kilbarger) Noll; son, James (Ginger) Noll Jr. of Lancaster; daughter, Teresa (Gary) Alberts of Sugarcreek; grandchildren, Samantha Noll and Betsy Noll of Lancaster, Heather (Dustin) Underwood of Logan, Nicole Harwood of Lancaster and Rose Troyer of Sugarcreek; great-granchildren, Dalton and Tryston Underwood; sister, Coletta (Charles) Thompson of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles (Betty) Noll and Donald (Loretta) Noll; and sister, Rita (Ted) Courtright. Friends may call at the Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort Street, Bremen on Thursday, April 4 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral Mass will be Friday, April 5 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Bremen with Father Thomas Kessler officiating. Military honors and graveside services will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Bremen. Contributions may be made in James’ memory to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
