James T. Johnston, 75, of Bremen, was suddenly welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at his residence. Jim was born November 17, 1941 in Bremen, the son of James E. and Emma (Wolfe) Johnston.
He was a lifelong resident of Bremen and a 1959 graduate of Rushcreek Memorial High School. He was a member of Salem Chapel United Brethren In Christ Church. He retired from Diamond Power as a chief electrician following 26 years of service.
Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Floretta (Childers) Johnston; children, Theodore “Ted” (Rita Scanlan), Michael “Mike” and Dwight “Ike” (Tina) Johnston; grandchildren, Dustin, Devon, Brooke, Bridgette Johnston; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Koontz and Kellie Beach; great-grandchildren, Brileigh Pappas and Arlo Scanlan; step-great-grandchildren, Heather, Tina, Isaac, and Lukas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his uncle and aunt, Wayne and Helen Sturm.
A time to visit with Jim’s family will be Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will take place Thursday at 10 AM at Salem Chapel, 3975 Marietta Road SW, Junction City, Ohio. Graveside services will follow at Salem Chapel Cemetery.
