Jacqueline (Jackie) Rose Thompson, 88, of Pataskala, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Arlington Care Center in Newark. She was born September 19, 1937, in Carroll, Ohio, the daughter of Harold and Eudella (Ballinger) Sheets of Bremen. She was Valedictorian of her Bremen High School class of 1955. She completed beauty school in Columbus and later worked as a stylist. She married Robert (Bob) Eugene Thompson, of Carroll, on November 30, 1958, where they initially made their home in Lancaster. Bob and Jackie then moved to Carroll, next door to Bob's parents, Nellie and Merrel Thompson, and had their daughter, Sheila, in 1961. Eventually, the family moved to Columbus, and in 1968, Bob and Jackie had a son, Robert (Rob) Thompson.
Jackie pursued a career in sales, working first at JC Penney and then later at Sun TV. Always frugal, she saved her money from commissions to take her family on vacations-to Florida, Hawaii, and then to Europe. Jackie loved traveling, the color red, roses, ice cream, chocolate chips, and Fritos, but most of all, she loved her family and her pets.
Jackie is survived by her siblings, Ruth Duvall and James (Jim) Sheets; sister and brother-in-law, Maryann and Ronnie Smith; children, Sheila (Chris) and Rob (Vondra) Thompson; grandchildren, Jordan (Debbie) Thompson, Katharine (Katie) and Elizabeth Thompson; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Evelyn McGee.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter Sheet; and husband, Robert (Bob) Thompson.
