Hubert C. Cottrill passed peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Saturday, November 11, 2023, after a few years of struggling with Parkinson.
Hubert sold cars for almost 50 yrs; first in Athens, then Lancaster with the Taylor Team of Dealerships. He loved cars, guns, The Buckeyes and Good Times with family and friends. Hubert was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a lifetime member of the Amvets in Athens, American Legion - Post 11, Lancaster Moose Club 944 and Buckeye Lake Eagles 2801.

He was born January 12, 1941 to Robert and Florence Cottrill in Union Furnace, Ohio. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Robert Cottrill and Jerry Cottrill, both of St Mary's, West Virginia, Glen Cottrill of Logan, Ohio and young brother, Richard Cottrill; an infant daughter, Michelle Cottrill; and an infant granddaughter, Lillian Florence Burke.
Hubert is survived by his loving wife, Melda (Holman-Burton) Cottrill; son, Dustin (Mary) Cottrill of Maysville Kentucky; daughter, Nicole (Daniel) Burke of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Steven (Misty) Burton of New Lexington, Ohio; a surrogate son, Brett Mitchell of Pickerington, whom we are so very grateful for his support this last 2 years; SEVEN grandchildren, Brea (Matthew) Kunkler, Hanna (Jake) Bush, Dalton (Marissa Mccafferty) Burton, Ella Burton, all from New Lexington Ohio, Xavier and Zoe Cottrill of Maysville, Kentucky and Jackson Burke of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; FIVE Great-grandchildren, Vera, Matthew and Callen Kunkler, Charlie Bush and Ansley McCafferty and AJ our furbaby; brother, Jimmie (Sherry) Cottrill; and sister-in-law, Betty Cottrill, all of St Mary's, West Virginia; brothers-in-law, Taylor (Lillian) Holman of Somerset, Ohio, Tom Holman, Ron (Joyce) Holman, Greg “aka Chuck” (Dawn) Holman and sister-in-law, Aldonna (Mike) Poling.
Absolutely The most Wonderful group of Nieces and Nephews and Families which he loved dearly. A special Thank you to Billy Cottrill for your help and visits.

Last, but not least, OUR group of FRIENDS for the last 25 years of fun, laughter, Buckeye game parties and travels.

The family wishes to thank Fairhope Hospice for the wonderful support given. Will be forever grateful for HIS nurse Shelly, Case worker Tiniah, Caregivers Jenn and Amber "His Girls" and the Hocking Township EMT’s for all the assists the last year..

After cremation by Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen, Ohio
a Celebration of Hubert’s Life will be held at a later date.
