Gregory Alan Jones, a beloved husband, father grandfather left this world on September 14, 2023. He was born on September 26, 1958 in Lancaster, Ohio. Gregory led a life filled with love, duty, and dedication.
Greg’s journey began on that autumn day in Lancaster, as the son of Robert Dean and Betty (Snider) Jones. He grew up in the close-knit community of Bremen, Ohio experiencing the joys of childhood surrounded by family and friends. Greg graduated from Fairfield Union High School in 1977, providing him with a solid foundation for his future endeavors.
After completing his education, Greg proudly enlisted in the United States Army. Greg served his country with honor on active duty and as a Reserve from 1977 - 1983. His unwavering commitment to his duties and his fellow servicemen was a testament to his character.
Upon his honorable discharge, Greg embarked on a career in the printing industry. Known for his meticulous attention to detail, he thrived as a printer, lending his expertise to Cyril Scott's reputable establishment. Greg retired form Cyril Scott in 2021.
Family was at the center of Greg's life. He shared many treasured moments with his beloved wife of 37 years, Shelia (Deavers) Jones, whom he cherished dearly. Their unwavering love and support for one another were the pillars of their enduring partnership. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, shared dreams, and unwavering companionship. He is also survived by his father, Bob Jones; mother-in-law, Marjorie Phyllis Deavers; children, Hannah Rebecca (Fred “Buddy”) Miller and Daniel Robert Gregory Jones; grandchildren, Raelle Lynn and Grant Alan Miller; brother, Andy (Dawna) Jones; sister, Brenda (Brian) Dean; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends. Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jones; and father-in-law, Vernon Dale Deavers.
To honor his life and say goodbye, family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Morgan Funeral Home. The ceremony will begin at 1 PM and will be followed by a military burial at Grandview Cemetery. A time to visit with Greg’s family will be held the same day from 11 AM – 1 PM.
As we gather to bid Gregory Alan Jones farewell, let us reflect on the joy and love he brought to our lives. May his memory inspire us to embrace each day with gratitude, kindness, and a commitment to family and community.
