Gladys Lucille Rowe, 94, of Hide-a-way Hills, Ohio died Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born September 3, 1919 in Franklin County, Ohio the daughter of the late Fredrick John and Magdalena (Berger) Stambaugh. She was a graduate of Capital University and was the librarian at Hilliard Jr. High School for over 30 years. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, where she especially enjoyed having her grandchildren participate with her in the Vacation Bible School activities. Gladys enjoyed golfing, gardening, tennis and traveling. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, George Milton Rowe; 5 sons, Milton (Nancy K.), David H. (Patricia), Phillip (Rebecca), Gregory (Lena), and Jeffrey (Julie) Rowe; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 6 sisters and 2 brothers. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 21 at 11 AM in Emanuel Lutheran Church, 29439 Hide-a-way Hills Road, Logan, Ohio 43138 with Rev. Heinz Raidel and Rev. Violet Meek officiating. Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers in Gladys’ memory to Fairfield Medical Center Foundation, c/o Palliative Care Unit, 401 N. Ewing Street, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
