George Ellsworth Foltz, 89, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born September 17, 1927 in Basil, Ohio to Henry George and Velma Louise (Trimmer) Foltz. George was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bremen. He was a lifelong dairy farmer and was active in Civil War reenactments for many years.
George is survived by his son, David (Susan) Foltz; daughters, Ruth Ann (Joe) Kale and Mary (Mick) Masters; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alberta Louise (Miller) Foltz; son, George Foltz; brother, Kenneth Foltz and grandson, Brian Lutz.
A visitation will be Monday from 6 – 8 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 AM in the funeral home with Father Thomas Kessler officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Online condolences at
