Eva Lurline Garretson Cobb died February 18, 2024 at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living in Dacula, GA. She was 93.
Eva was born May 1,1930 in Charleston, WV to Franklin and Dilla Meadows Garretson. She was a graduate of Ravenswood (WV) High School. She married Rossie Elmer Cobb of Ripley, WV in 1951. Eva worked in Columbus while Ross was stationed overseas. She and Ross had two children, Steve and Brenda. When the family moved to Hilliard, Eva was a homemaker, and later worked at Ford Motor Company in auto parts production and for The Wendy’s Company. Eva was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Salem Chapel United Brethren Church and volunteered at the Hilliard Senior Center. Eva and Ross retired to their farm in Junction City in 1993.
Eva is survived by her son, Steve (Laura) Cobb of Phoenix, AZ and Brenda Jones of Junction City, OH; five grandchildren, Kristi Thomas, Venita Jolie, Brian Stearns, Gabriella Jones, Rachel Jones; and five great-grandchildren, Alyssa Stearns, Lydia Stearns, Zachary Stearns, Kendall Wilkins, Taylor Silock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross; sisters, Edith and Elah; and brothers, Earl and Ernest.
Visitations will take place from 5 – 8 pm on Friday, March 1 at Morgan Funeral Home in Bremen, OH and at Salem Chapel United Brethren Church in Junction City, OH from 9 -11 am on Saturday, March 2.
Funeral services begin at Salem Chapel United Brethren Church on Saturday, March 2 at 11 am. Graveside services will follow at Salem Chapel Cemetery.
