Eleanor L. Syfert, 95, Lancaster Ohio, passed away peacefully at her residence on Jan. 23, 2025. She was born September 16, 1929, with her twin brother Clyde. Eleanor was the last surviving child of the late Gertrude and Daniel Bowersock's 12 children. As a young woman she worked as a nurse at Johnson's Nursing home, Lancaster Glass and Anchor Hocking. After retiring she worked at Seesholtz Group Home.

Eleanor married William Duane Syfert on September 11, 1948. Together Eleanor and William had 11 children. In her rare free time, she enjoyed square dancing, family parties and working in her flower beds. Eleanor loved animals, so much so she actually turned some into taxidermy mounts to keep them forever. She enjoyed passing down family recipes to her children and loved spending time with her family catching up on what's going on in their lives.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Gloria Jean Phillips (Bill Brown), Thomas (Diane) Syfert, Sarah Alexander, Sandra (Andy) Kilbarger, Connie (Allen) Robey, Shelby Syfert (Don Reinschield), William (Donna) Syfert; Daughter-in-law, Shirley Syfert; son-in-law, Dan Julian and Ron Harmon; grandchildren, Rhonda, Betty, John, Millie, Steve, Teresa, Dave, Lisa, Michael, Richie, Nancy, Donna, Tommy, Angel, Michelle, Amos, Christy, Roger, Thaddeus, Candy, Barry, Cerene, Storie, Charidy, Josh, David, Max, Andrew, Aaron, Andrea, Amega ,and many many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great- great-great grandchildren. Eleanor will be welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven by her husband William Duane, her children, baby girl Syfert, Mary Harmon, Dave Syfert, Linda Julian, also Cheryl Hiles; son-in-law Buck Alexander; grandchildren, Sandra K. Harmon, Mary Ann Carter and Bryan Julian; great grandsons, Ronnie Parsons and Jason Harmon. Eleanor will truly be missed by all of her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen with Rev. Roger Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. A time for family and friends to visit will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
