Eileen H. “Tommy” Thomas, 88, of Rushville, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017 after a short illness. She was born March 9, 1929 in Fairfield County, Ohio to Rev. Ira Newton and Melza (Klingler) Burnworth.
Eileen retired from Hocking Valley Hospital in 1991 with 26 years’ service. She loved working at Harvest Adventures and meeting all of the people there.
She married Harry R. Thomas on January 4, 1948 and together they had daughter,Carolyn (Dave) Spillman and sons, Rick (Barb) Thomas and Ron, who is deceased (Mary) Thomas.
She is also survived by 8 granchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Goss, Carolyn (Don) Ankrom; sisters-in-law, Linda Embrey, Barb Thomas and Donna Mae and Geraldine Burnworth; and special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; son; brothers, Earnest, Gene and Jr. Burnworth; and sisters, Louise and Norma. A special thanks to niece Brenda Malone for her wonderful care during mom’s last days.
A visitation will be Tuesday from 5 – 8 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will take place Wednesday at 10 AM with one hour prior visitation at Harvest Adventures, 1135 Locust Grove Road, Bremen. Graveside services will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Eileen request no flowers. Contributions may be made in her memory to FairHoPe Hospice or Starlight Industries of Zanesville.
