Donald “Don” Keith Ankrom, 86, passed away on October 6, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Don was born in Bremen, Ohio on July 14,1936, the son of Rudy and Lucy (Ruff) Ankrom. He was a 1955 graduate of Rushcreek Memorial High School, worked at Bremco and also worked many years with his father with R.C. Ankrom Co. Don loved life, family and friends, which is likely why he stubbornly hung on through many days of hospice care at his home. On that note, Don’s family would like to thank Fairhope Hospice and the Mahler Family for their attentive and supportive care. He enjoyed his Thursday afternoons at Earl Lehman’s barn with lifelong friends, especially his friend and neighbor, Ted Forsythe. Despite being born with hip dysplasia, Don worked hard, volunteered often, and danced whenever he had a willing partner. Don’s wife Carolyn lovingly cared for him as he was able to do less and less through the years. There was always a feast at the kitchen table for family and friends; including breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snacks which had Don eating as a king. He was grateful for the life provided by his Lord and Savior and by His grace, Don is now pain free. Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carolyn (Burnworth) Ankrom, whom he married March 22, 1958; son, Keith; daughters, Kimberly (Kelly) Shull and Michelle (Brock) Seesholtz; grandchildren, Adam Ankrom, Donny (Aubrey) Ankrom, Nick (Ben) Shull, Nathan (Kaylee) Shull, Courtney (Derick) Snyder, Brady Seesholtz; great-grandchildren, Avery and Seeley Ankrom, Beckham Frasure, Rowyn and Laikyn Shull and Barrett Snyder; brother, Tom (Sharon) Ankrom; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Kenneth Ankrom.
