Dolly Defenbaugh, 85, of West Rushville, Ohio died Saturday, April 21, 2012. She was born November 15, 1926 in Westerville, Ohio the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Lida (Dye) Garrett. She was a lifelong resident of West Rushville and graduated from Rushville High School. She was active in her community of West Rushville having served as Mayor, a member of the Sewer and Water Board and currently as member of the Village Council. She also served for many years as an Election Board Officer. Dolly had worked at the Lancaster Courthouse and retired from the Fairfield County Dog Shelter. She is survived by her sons, David (Julie Lechnir) Defenbaugh of Pine City, Minnesota and Danny (Jennifer) Defenbaugh of Grapevine, Texas; sister-in-law, Katherine Garrett; grandchildren, Michael (Juanita Zamora), Kayla, Amanda, Angela and Shane Defenbaugh; great-grandchildren, Courtney and Devan. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Garrett Jr. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, April 25th at 11 AM at the North Market Street Church of Christ, 314 North Market Street, Somerset, Ohio 43783 with Rev. Doug Oakes and Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Graveside services will follow at West Rushville Cemetery.
