Dennis "Joe" Sali, 68, of Pickerington, passed peacefully surrounded by his family, Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Mt. Carmel East. He was born April 15, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Victor and Rita (Buechner) Sali. Joe was a graduate of Brookhaven High School 1965 and served in the US Army in Vietnam. He was retired and was a member of the Pickerington Christian Church, American Legion Pickerington Post 283 and the Columbus and Licking Rock and Mineral Clubs. Joe loved his family, was an avid rock and mineral collector, craftsman, artist, car enthusiast and fisherman.
Joe is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Cheryl Ann (Hammock) Sali, whom he married September 11, 1971; son, Justin (Michelle) Sali; daughter, Dina Sali; grandchildren, Kaleigh, James, Dalton, Hope, Faith and Destiny; father-in-law, William Hammock; brothers, Larry, Victor and Chris Sali; and sisters, Debbie Sali and Vickie Bice. He was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law Betty Hammock.
A time to visit with Joe’s family will take place Saturday, April 16th from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 7 PM at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 West Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester. Funeral service will follow at 7 PM in the funeral home with Rev. Joe Leighton officiating.
