Clara “Jeannie” Wentz, 66, of Lancaster died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born March 9, 1944 in Bremen, Ohio the daughter of the late Luther and Clarice (Vandermark) Thomas. Clara graduated from Rushcreek Memorial High School and St. Francis School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse, retiring from Fairfield Medical Center and Visiting Nurses. She attended Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church, Lancaster and Bremen United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Tammie L. (Doug) Garrett and Michael E. (Erica) Wentz; grandchildren, Ryan C. Garrett, Ashley M. and Michael L. Wentz, Joshua Garrett, Tasha Takos and Amanda Shiltz; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Wanda M. (Forrest) Snyder, Rebecca S. (Stephen) Pontious, Janet L. (David) Gross; brothers, Harley B. (Rebecca) Thomas and Jeffery L. (Pamela) Thomas; an aunt; an uncle; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Marty Reedy. Visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort Street, Bremen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the Bremen United Methodist Church with Rev. Deborah Nance officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Jeannie’s memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
