Charles “Buck” Fahrer Jr, 91 of Rushville, died peacefully Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Pickering House, surrounded by his family. He was born September 30, 1924 in Junction City, Ohio the son of the late Charles Sr. and Lefa Rachel (Hufford) Fahrer.
Charles was a 1942 graduate of Rushville Union High School and was retired from Diamond Power with 30 years service. He was a member of the Rushcreek Presbyterian Church, West Rushville and a past member of the Rushville Union Lions Club. Farming was his love and passion and he enjoyed working the family farm on Ireland Road.
He is survived by his son, Randy (Sue) Fahrer; daughter, Sandy Beardmore; 3 grandchildren; Stephanie (Dave) Osborn, Christine Ganyard, and Brett (friend – Sophie Tuttle) Beardmore; one great-grandson, Nick Osborn; sister-in-law, Bernita Ardrey; brother-in-law, Donald Winegardner; nephews, Jerry Fahrer and Dick Brown; niece, Marcelette Elick; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Cleo (Winegardner) Fahrer on April 23, 2015; son-in-law, Richard Beardmore; brother, Henry Fahrer; and sister, Helen Brown.
Visitation with Charles’ family will be Wednesday from 5 – 8 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort Street, Bremen. Funeral services will take place Thursday at 10:30 AM at the Rushcreek Presbyterian Church in West Rushville with Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Interment will follow at West Rushville Cemetery.
