Carrie "Kay" Watters Spangler, 70, flew to Heaven on August 25, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lancaster on August 14, 1955 to the late Oliver and Frances (Souders) Watters.

In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her siblings Ben "B.J." Watters, Mary Carson, and Larita "Rita" McClaskey.

Kay is lovingly remembered by her son, Larry Spangler II; daughter, Carrie Spangler; honorary daughter, April Spangler and honorary daughter, Heather Brown, and honorary daughter, Shannon Cantor.  Kay is also loved and remembered by her longtime partner, Terry Spangler; 8 grandchildren, Travis Spangler, Trever Spangler, Talayna Spangler, Tallie Spangler, Norah Fackler, Jayla Long, Aiden Long, and Sophie Long; 6 honorary grandchildren, Cleyton Spangler, Alizabith Lutz, Abbigial Lutz, Cameron Keaton, Megan Keaton, Mikayla Keaton, and Ben Keaton, who all treated Kay like royalty; as well as her sister, Melanie Spangler; brothers-in-law, Don Spangler and Glen Carson.

Throughout her life, Kay dedicated herself to God's work with a servant's heart. She was a devoted caregiver always ready and willing to assist anybody in need, whether they were family or a stranger. Kay spent time working as a missionary in Mexico, South Dakota, and elsewhere. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally and celebrated each new addition to her family. Her love of God, family, music, and the natural world created the bedrock of her life.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 PM on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen with Rev. Willie Syfert and Rev. Marvin Shipman officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Bremen. Visitation will be on Friday at 10 AM until the time of service.

Kay's family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff of the Pickering House at Fairhope Hospice in Lancaster for their kindness, care, and compassion.
