Carol "Susie Belle" Daugherty went to a peaceful afterlife on June 15, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Carol passed away at home after a long battle with rheumatoid arthritis and Parkinsons. She fought a gallant battle.
Carol was welcomed into this world April 5, 1943 to her parents, Howard and Norma (Thrash) Benson. She attended Bloom Carroll schools where she was a cheerleader. Carol loved mowing grass and working in her many flower gardens. She loved many cats & dogs, especially her Cairn Terrier, Wilma and FatCat Ted. She never failed to feed and help any stray that happened to her home. But most of all she loved making lasting memories with her kids, grandkids and great-grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband of 46 years, Thuron Daugherty; daughters, Susan Roshon, Penny (Chris) Arnold; son, Darry (Karen) Romine; and daughter, Summer (Rick) Corey; grandchildren, Brandy (Joe) Pacino, Simon (Jill) Roshon, Ryan (Malisa) Barringer, Amanda Romine, Cora (Matthew) Baxter, Lacey Romine, Ethan (Cassie) Romine, Tyler Borah and Holden Arnold; her great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Roshon, Remington Roshon, Cohen, Kennedy and Carter Barringer, Clara Baxter, Zach Collins and Faithlynn Romine; brother, Harry (Kathy) Benson; sister-in-law and special friend, Randy Benson; brothers-in-law, James (Sharon) Daugherty and David (Darlene) Daugherty; sister-in-law, Linda Daugherty; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Norma Benson; brother, Michael Benson; and daughter, Candy Romine.
Carol will be greatly missed but always remembered by those who she made so many wonderful memories.
There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Carol's memory to any local dog or cat rescue.
