Betty Lou Sherlock, 81, of Lancaster, made her flight home to Jesus on Saturday, December 3, 2016. She was born August 25, 1935 in Lancaster the daughter of the late Raymond and Martha Beatrice (Mathias) Highley.
Betty was a 1953 graduate of Bremen Rushcreek Memorial High School and after raising her children worked for Wyman Cleaners. She was member of the Grace Community Church of the Nazarene, New Lexington. Music was a large part of Betty’s life and she started playing piano at a very young age. She combined her love for music and her love for Jesus and shared it with others over many years singing and playing with the Gospel Tones, The Sherlock Family Singers and Salt of the Earth.
Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ray Sherlock, whom she married January 1, 1956; three children, Jeff (Diane) Sherlock, Kathie (Doug) Godby and Tim (Connie) Sherlock; 4 grandchildren, Delana, Zachary, Casey and Tyler; great-grandson, Levi; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A time to visit with Betty’s family will be Wednesday from 2 -4 and 6 -8 PM in the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will take place Thursday at 10 AM in the funeral home with Rev. John Jividen officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Bremen.
