Betty Olexia, 97, of Astor, Florida, passed away early Thursday morning, November 24, 2022. She was born Elizabeth Brodzinski, on July 8th, 1925 in Dillonvale, Ohio, to her parents John and Catherine. She married Micheal Olexia of Mingo Junction, Ohio and raised their daughters, Patty and Cathy in Lancaster Ohio. They enjoyed camping together and made many friends at campgrounds around Ohio. Mike and Betty moved to Astor Florida in 1975 where they became active members of St Hubert’s Catholic Mission in 1982. Betty was involved with nearly every parish function and served that family in so many ways for over four decades. Betty is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Carl) Hoffman and Catherine (Donn) Borah, five grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; her sister, Virginia; and brothers, Johnny and Joseph. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, and her brothers, Henry, Bill, and Mitchell; and sisters, Helen Waldman and Wanda Magyer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Mary Catholic Church in Bremen on Wednesday, November 30th at 11:00 am with Father Tyron Tomson officiating. She will be transported to Florida for interment at Astor Park Cemetery with her husband, and a memorial service at St Hubert’s.
