Alpha Ray Sherlock, 93, of Lancaster, made his flight home to Jesus on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. He was born July 27, 1928 in Lancaster Ohio, the son of Austin Ray and Rozella Mae (Howdyshell) Sherlock. Ray was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean Conflict and had worked for One-Write Company retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Grace Community Church of the Nazarene, New Lexington. He had a great love for Jesus and shared it with others over many years through evangelism, the bright smile on his face - radiating the joy of Christ and singing with the Gospel Tones and The Sherlock Family Singers. Ray is survived by three children, Jeff (Diane) Sherlock, Kathie (Doug) Godby and Tim (Connie) Sherlock; 4 grandchildren, Delana, Zachary, Casey and Tyler; 4 great-grandchildren, Levi, Hunter, Adeline and Gideon; sister, Wilma (Richard) Turner; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Lou (Highley) Sherlock; two brothers, Merle and Norman Sherlock. A time to visit with Ray’s family will be Thursday from 5-8 PM in the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will take place Friday at 10 AM in the funeral home with Rev.
