Alice Loretta Mott, 88, of Lancaster, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Crestview Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing. She was born September 22, 1923 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky the daughter of James M. and Willabelle (Fugitt) Franklin. Alice was the first office manager for Fairfield Family Counseling and worked closely with Dr. Harold Brown in founding the organization. She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church and enthusiastically involved in many church activities. She could often be found working at the church book store, or in the kitchen preparing meals for Wednesday night dinners. She had a volunteer ethic and fun loving spirit by working tirelessly for the Lancaster Festival ticket office; and then joining with friends to attend most of the events. Alice had a strong sense of community and friendship. She will be remembered as a unique spirit who always said yes to a request; with boundless energy, kindness, and a genuine smile and a happy thought. She also had many friends who shared her passion for playing bridge, quilting, traveling, and The Buckeyes. Alice is survived by her sons, John Mott, Tim (Nancy) Mott, Steve (Tamiason) Mott; daughter, Elizabeth (Luis) Anda; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim and Carl Franklin; sisters, Jewel Priddy and Jean Evans. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dana Edward Mott in 1992; grandson, Peter Franklin Mott; and siblings, Don Franklin, Pauline Caldwell and Loreen Adams. A visitation will take place Monday, November 28 from 4 – 8 PM at Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort Street, Bremen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 222 N. Broad Street, Lancaster with Rev. Matthew L. Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Rose Cemetery. Contributions in Alice’s memory may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
