With great sadness his family and friends share the passing of Alexander Thomas West, who left this world far too soon on May 31, 2025. Born on February 18, 2003 in Lancaster, Ohio, Alex lived life full throttle. He loved his people hard and for Alex, "family" had nothing to do with last names. He built his circle out of trust and love. If he let you in, you were his, and you always would be. Alex's life motto would be: "Work Hard, Play Harder and Love Your Hardest". Don't all great friends carry zip ties in their pockets?

Alex loved 2nd Gen Cummins Dodge Ram 12V diesel trucks and an old Chevy Square Body. He was a hard working, well respected diesel mechanic who worked for Mid-Ohio Utilities and Priceless Diesel where the grease on his hands and pants, along with the smell of diesel was nearly permanent. If he wasn't doing burnouts and replacing tires, or swapping turbos for more power in a friend's shop, then he was enjoying golfing, music, bonfires, making everyone laugh and Busch Light. He even worked hard on his mullet!

Alex will be desperately missed by his family that loved him more than anything, including his Mother, Cindi West; his grandparents; George and Linda Shreyer; his many aunts and uncles, George Jr. "Ed" (Peggy) West, Rodney West, Barry (Colleen) West, Jay (Becky) West, Lori (Ed) Smith, Deborah (Damian) Schmelzer, Holly (Roger) Cade, Kimberly (Gary) Haney, Chad West, Rachel (Jason) Thomas, Traci (Susan Barrett) Shreyer, Heidi (Jason) Taylor, Scott Burke, Nikki West and Stephanie West; loved by generations of Shreyer and West cousins who grew up alongside him and now carry his memory and fun stories forward. Alex was familiar with loss and grief and was preceded in death by his father, Tim West; cousin Freddy Burke, his paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A gathering of family and friends will take place Friday, June 6th from 1 - 6 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. A time to share and celebrate Alex's life will be Saturday at 11 AM on the grounds of Morgan Funeral Home. This will be an outdoor event, so please bring lawn chairs and an umbrella. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery, where Alex will be laid to rest next to his father, Tim.
