Mary Catherine Stoner

February 6, 1927 - May 7, 2022

Mary Catherine Stoner, 95, of Lancaster, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 7, 2022 at the Main Street Terrace in Lancaster, Ohio. She was born February 6, 1927 in Bremen, Ohio, the daughter of Jess and Eva Stoner. She was a devoted servant of the Lord, having been church treasurer for several decades and headed up many mission projects as a lifelong member of the Bremen Calvary United Methodist Church. She graduated from Rushcreek Memorial High School in 1945 then went to work as a bookkeeper for the Thimmes Meat Market for over 30 years before changing professions and working as a social service worker for Community Action and a nutrition aide for OSU’s extension program. That is when she helped to start the Bremen Food Pantry that she volunteered with for over 20 years. She was a gifted quilter, making hundreds of quilts and other handiworks. She taught quilting even into her eighties. Mary is survived by many nieces and nephews and especially close niece, Vickie Winkelman and grand nephew, Tyler Winkelman. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Laura Adamson, Pauline Harris and Thelma (Robert) Lacey; brothers, Raymond (Mildred) and Frederick (Irene) Stoner; and especially close nephew, Brian Lacey. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 10 AM to 12 PM with at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 130 Purvis Ave., Bremen. Pastor Paul Wymer will be officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Bremen. The family would like to thank the team at Echo Hospice and the staff at Main Street Terrace for their great loving care.
