Clara Ellen Mathias

Clara Ellen (Hahn) Mathias, 82, of Rushville, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Pickering House, Lancaster. She was born February 14, 1931 in Rockbridge, Ohio the daughter of the late William and Rose (Gieger) Hahn. She retired from Fairfield Union Local School District where she served as the Food Service Director at the High School and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bremen. Clara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Don Clifford Mathias, whom she married June 13, 1953; children, Mike (Mary) Mathias of Rushville,
Tim (Cyndee) Mathias of Amanda, Teresa (Dan) Pierce of Pittsburgh, PA, Don Mathias of Rushville, Jeff (Nancy) Mathias of Bremen, Sally (Joe) Vogliano of Fairfield, CA, Richard (Tonya) Mathias of Sugar Grove; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, James “Nick” Hahn, Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by brothers, William, Paul, Thomas and Jacob Hahn and sisters, Theresa, Louise and Rose Marie Hahn. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 – 8 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort Street, Bremen. A Memorial Mass will take place Friday at 10 AM in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 602 Marietta Street, Bremen with Father Scott Hahn officiating.
