Jo-Ann (Amerine) Bigham – 90 years old, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at the home of her daughter & son-in-law, Bev & Bob McFarland in Bremen, Ohio with her daughters, Belinda and Bev at her side.
She was born in Lancaster, Ohio on November 25, 1934 to Harold W. and Fannie (Zervis) Amerine. She is a 1952 graduate of Lancaster High School. After meeting Ivan Bigham on a blind date, set up by her cousin, Donna (Zervis) Humphrey, she and Ivan married on February 1, 1953 and were married until his death on September 20, 2016.
Jo-Ann spent many years of her life caring for her loved ones. After her children were older, she worked outside of the home as a school bus driver, a security guard and eventually retired from the catalog order desk at Sears and Roebuck. After retirement, she was a babysitter to some of her grandchildren, as well as some of the local Bremen kids.
She is survived by her children; Ronald (Patricia) Bigham, Indianapolis, IN, Karen Bigham, Front Royal, VA, Belinda Castle, Lancaster, OH, Beverly (Robert) McFarland, Bremen, OH and Gregory (Pamila Kane) Bigham, Zanesville, OH; daughter-in-law; Charlotte Bigham, Lancaster, OH; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Garold Amerine; sister, Mary Lou (Doyle) Sturms; step-brother, Roger Gilmore; brother-in-law, Harold (Donna) Bigham; many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Harold & Fannie Amerine; sister, Pauline Amerine; step-mother, Margaret (Gilmore) Amerine; husband, Ivan Bigham; son, Daniel Bigham; father-in-law, David Bigham; mother-in-law, Elva Watters; brother-in-law, Carl Bigham; sisters-in-law, Agnes Cupp, Lena Simpson and Dena Fox; and several special nieces, nephews and cousins.
A time to visit with family will be Friday, March 21, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort St. Bremen, Ohio and the funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025 with her grandson, David McCandlish officiating. Burial will follow at Greenfield Cemetery, 3862 Columbus-Lancaster Rd NW, Carroll, OH 43112
