Janet was born December 13, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio to the late John and Elizabeth (Scott) Megahey. She passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones.
Janet was employed at Interim Healthcare in Lancaster until January 22, 2025. She loved going into her client’s homes and caring for them. She previously retired from Anchor Hocking Plant 1 and moved to Henderson, Nevada where she drove a semi-truck for a few years. It was during this time she entered home healthcare with Angel Care. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, cooking, and gardening. She loved to tell jokes to anyone willing to listen. Her favorite song to sing at Karaoke was “Harper Valley PTA”. Janet attended Allen Chapel Church and loved her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her daughters, Colleen (Tim) Lane, Jamie (Bill) Hurst, and son Johnnie (Darlene) Murphy; grandchildren, Tiffani (Robert) Harlan, Kodi (Jason) Stebelton, Chelsea Hurst, Erin Yarbrough, Kyle Murphy, Brooke Murphy, Courtney (Michael) Gensley, Austin Murphy, Robert “Matt” Murphy IV, Casey Hurst, Mackenzie Murphy, and Hunter Hurst; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a brother, John Megahey; sisters, Melodee Sullivan, Lynn Roshon, and Cheryl Burrows; aunt, Jean (Ed) Helmick; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Robert “Bobby” Murphy III; two brothers, Frank “Brian” Megahey and Robert William “Billy” Megahey; six sisters, Alice-Ann Cleghon, Sheila Lynn Hart, Jane Kisor, Susan Thompson, Jerylyn McArthur, and Karen Rux.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Janet Elaine (Megahey) Keller, age 78, of Lancaster, Ohio, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Morgan Funeral Home with Pastor Evan Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Lancaster.
Friends may call from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 124 Fort Street, Bremen, Ohio.
