Jerry Clifton Dupler, 79, of Rushville, Ohio, went home to be with his lord and savior on August 2, 2022 surrounded by family. He was born May 12, 1943 in Lancaster, Ohio, the son of Clifton and Marvine Dupler. He was a 1961 graduate of Rushville Union High School. All through his life he continued to play an active role in Fairfield Union Local Schools from volunteering to rooting on the girls basketball team.
Jerry was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, Colfax, where he was a member of the church council and served in many areas of the church, especially enjoying dartball and Easter breakfast committee. He was a 50 year member of the Rushville-Union Lions Club.
In 1978, Jerry became a self-employed Electrician and has worked for many local farmers, homeowners & local business owners such as the Friendly Bremen Bank/Vinton Co. Banks. But his passion was playing golf. Rain or shine you could always find him on the golf course.
Jerry was a supporter of the Fairfield County Fair. He enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter show at the Fairfield County Fair. If you couldn’t find him watching the show, he was riding around on the golf cart talking to everyone because if you know Jerry, you know he doesn’t know a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Faye (Learned) Dupler; his daughters, Brenda (Rod), Kelly (John); and son, Bobby. His grandchildren, Heather (Justin), Clifton, Tyler, Travis, Landon and Ben. His great-granddaughters, Kaylee and Ella Jo; and nieces, nephew and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Clifton and Marvine; his brother, Charles and his wife, Bernadine; and his best friend and cousin, Dave Ruff.
Special thanks to dear friends Harold and Donna Hoffman for years of laughter and tears, but mainly laughter.
Special thanks to his Promedica Hospice Nurse, Anita, who has been more than caregiver.
